Connection advice with new subwoofer in stereo system

Ignore him. He seems to have a bee in his bonnet and have to interject his opinion on subwoofers in two channel systems without actually addressing the pertinent question. It's tiresome. Anyways, as I don't believe there is any subwoofer bass management going on here, you could pick up a...

    Had to happen

The writer also states that vinyl is only shipped once. Patently untrue, as that would mean direct from warehouse shipping to the customer. Sure, may happen every now and again, but I can think of a number of additional potential shipments, even if the pressing factory is in-country.

    Sub wiring - using RCAs

In exactly the same way as most people have their subwoofers setup - using only the low pass filter on the subwoofer to take over from the main speakers based on the natural in-room roll-off of the main speakers. It's the same basic principle, you just don't have the luxury (and benefits) of...

    Best Subwoofers 2025 article

https://www.whathifi.com/best-buys/home-cinema/best-subwoofers I find it extremely odd how, in 2025, WHF are touting the B&W ASW610 and Q Acoustics QB12 as two of the three 'best subs' in 2025. The ASW610 was first reviewed in 2008, the QB12 in 2019. And then to have a whole category 'Best for...

Does anyone here have Klipsch the Fives, Sevens or Nines? You like them?

I had the Fives on home demo. Returned them - they aren't very linear in their tonality when you change volume. At the lower end of the volume dial, there just wasn't enough relative bass. But when I got over a certain volume, bass was present, but the top end way too much.

    Name and shame

There's also this from him... For those that don't know, EveAnna is a very gifted technical engineer, and Manley Labs has done wonderfully under her stewardship. Also this: https://www.audioholics.com/editorials/synergistic-research I've met Gene. Don't agree with everything he says, but...

Just awaiting the cone of shame accessory so we can make those woofers horn loaded.

What was your most inexpensive or most cost effective HiFi discovery

It's not that bad - you can really group it into four overall steps.

What was your most inexpensive or most cost effective HiFi discovery

The Sumiko Master Set loudspeaker placement method. Cost: How ever much electricity used whilst I read up/watched a video on it. And time, if we're being pedantic.

    Which amp for B&W?

Try angling the speakers away from the listening position more, and experiment with moving them either further into the room, or close to the wall behind them. Most of the time, people place their speakers between 6-24" into the room, which can be considered a 'dead zone' especially for upper...

    Things I hate about Hifi

People. Especially the 'my use case is THE use case' crowd, and think they should be sticking their oar in on a system setup based on one photo of the room, with no comprehension that you can't hear with your eyes, nor do you know what else happens in said room.

You should probably include the rough location and ship weight so those interested can estimate shipping.

Soundstage greatly improved on WiiM system by turning off EQ

EQ can introduce phase issues, which may explain the reduction in soundstage experienced. Room correction (although it's the wrong name for it - Listening Position Compensation is FAR more accurate, because it does NOT correct the room) should only be taken seriously if it involves phase...

    Question Need subwoofer advice

If you're going to do the 'subwoofer crawl' - please, PLEASE make sure that you do it with multiple tracks. It is not going to find the best position for the sub, but the 'least worse,' and doing it with only one track will only be having you find the least worst position for that track. At...
