I had the Fives on home demo. Returned them - they aren't very linear in their tonality when you change volume. At the lower end of the volume dial, there just wasn't enough relative bass. But when I got over a certain volume, bass was present, but the top end way too much.

EQ can introduce phase issues, which may explain the reduction in soundstage experienced. Room correction (although it's the wrong name for it - Listening Position Compensation is FAR more accurate, because it does NOT correct the room) should only be taken seriously if it involves phase...

Fold the cable back on itself and use a nice velcro cable tie. Saves you another trip if you find you need to repurpose it somewhere where the longer cable is beneficial.

Bass vocalists can get lower than that too. This is why subwoofers should not be an afterthought/a race to the bottom - even after being crossed over, they are still contributing to the fundamental and low order harmonics of so many instruments, as well as the human voice.
