I recently purchased a Naim Unitilite I use it for playing DVD and for the internet radio. I can also play my Blu Ray and TV through it so very universal. Like you it's the first Naim product I have purchased and I am delighted with the build quality and sound quality.

I seem to remember in the WHF review of the Naim Unitiqute which is only 40 watts per channel they drove all sorts of expensive speakers without any problem so I would think that that the Rega would be fine.

No it will not damage the speakers at all if it did I would not have done it my self. Use some foam or T shirts anything soft will do

Yes blocking the ports will reduce boom and give a tighter bass. When I set up my subwoofer I blocked the ports on my speakers and then used a sealed sub which in addition to giving more bass gives cleaner bass. Sealed speakers always give the best non booty bass in my opinion.

Try blocking the ports on the speakers and see how you like the sound then. If you like the new sound but find there is not enough bass then get a subwoofer.

Yes he designed many Audiolab products. This new FDAC is going to be something special as he has no timetable to work to and he wants everything to be perfect. I would urge you to have a look especially as only apprx 200 units wiil be made. There will be a lifetime warranty on it also
