A tip I was given was to unplug both LNB cables from the box for 30 seconds then replug in, this resets the LNB

    Sky + HD sound loss

Sky sports was unbearable yesterday, football and golf, noticed it on Sky 1, rarely on the Movies though. I agree, Sky don't give a toss

    Sky + HD sound loss

I have done restarts and updated software on both Sky and my Denon receiver, its only on HD and if you switch from Dolby to Normal on the Sky sound settings the problem disappears, which i can handle for sports but not movies, someone mentioned a bandwidth issue in past discussions on this problem.

    Sky + HD sound loss

I have posted this issue before, and it is back again! Every few minutes, the sound drops out and its damn infuriating, its only a problem with HD, SD is fine, Sky as per norm are hopeless, their 'technical' side is totally hopeless, check settings, bla bla bla bla. Its obviously an HD issue...

Thank you, i'll have a look, i have a denon 2113. I have placed them at the the same level, head height, and it all sounds good!

    Surround back speaker heights

I haven't done all the drilling for the others yet, just needed an opinion before i did that, there seems to be a few differing opinions on heights, some say with 7.1 it should all be at ear height yet in 5.1 they should be above, not sure what the diff would be, personaly i think the rears are...

    Surround back speaker heights

I have a 7.1 set up and i have my surround speakers a foot above my listening position to the side, should my surround rears be the same height?

Monitor Audio MASS vs Dali Zensor 1

I have the front speakers 1m either side of the tv and the rears, to the side of my listening position, all at head height, the spaekers are all wall mounted with MA wall brackets. You really should have them set up all at the same level, ie head height, apart from the centre speaker which i...

Monitor Audio MASS vs Dali Zensor 1

I have the mass system, its a mind blowing sound, and the sub will blow you away, however its a hefty sizable beast of a thing, there's no hiding it discreetly somewhere, the surround speakers are quite a weight too and you would need the appropriate stands. Music is crystal clear, with the sub...

    itv 1 in dd

ITV HD doesn't broadcast in 5.1 surround, merely Dolby Pro Logic, which isn't quite the same, i have emailed ITV on several occasions to ask why they are the only HD broadcaster that doesn't output sound in 5.1. Their answer is that they are 'working on it', something they have been doing for...

    Sky Sports 1HD sound issues

Thanks for that, kind of good to know its not just me. Maybe it will sort itself out, maybe worth another call to Sky.

    Sky Sports 1HD sound issues

I have my sky+ HD connected to a Denon 2113 via HDMI. When watching Sky Sports 1HD I experience dips in the sound for a split second, not all the time, but it can happen in quick succession is a many minutes. This does not happen with all the other HD channels i watch or any of the other sports...

Need experts help. Glass room with minx/q-acoustics

I would have thought if your listening area is 4x4 then it shouldn't be an issue, i have a 10m long through lounge, on e half for tv listening etc, rear used for diner. I've no experience or much knowledge on floorstanders, though i would think with the quality of the sub why bother with even...

Need experts help. Glass room with minx/q-acoustics

Hi, i'm looking seriously at the CA Minx's and all the advice on these forums and from RS is that the max size of the room should be 4 x 4m, so maybe your room is a tad large. Cant offer any advice on floor standers as my room is far too small to acommodate for them. They are very good, the minx's!
