Quick update for anyone interested. I have bought a Fiio K13 R2R which has a PEQ and so far I've found it to be very useful, not because of any deficiencies of equipment etc but just because productions and styles of music differ. All good stuff IMO

Thankfor that Doug. I’m not minded to chuck my money at one though as the Sennheiser ones aren’t that cheap and so you buy a cheap one and nothing happens and then you get told it’s the cables and then you buy a more expensive one and then.., SoI’ll just leave it 😆

Yes I have the HD 650 which have the removable cable fitting into both sides so should be capable. I haven't heard much in the way of noise with these so maybe not much point.
