    Speakers for Audiolab 8200CDQ & 8200P ???

Thank you both for your ideas. The ATC, Kef, M.A. and B&W's are known to me and on the short list, I will do some research on the others. I've also looked at the B&W CM5's, is the price difference over the 685 S2's justified and would they make more of the CD/amp's potential??

    Speakers for Audiolab 8200CDQ & 8200P ???

I have arranged an audition of the Audiolab 8200CDQ and 8200P power amp and am after ideas for speakers to try with them. Although my listening room is large (5x7m) I must mount them on moveable wall brackets so it's standmounts only for me, upto a grand. All advice gratefully received.

    Virgins TiVo box

Just a quick question regarding the Virgin Tivo box: They say it has its own built in broadband router and an ethernet port. Could this router be wired to my Sony Blu-Ray to get the online content or would I still require a stand alone router?? Cheers

Sky HD Dolby Digital with Denon 1911 amp

Mick you've cracked it for me, cheers. I found the audio input select within the (***) menu, changed it from auto to digital and now it's behaving exactly as I thought it should.

Sky HD Dolby Digital with Denon 1911 amp

Was a bit vague wasn't I, rushing as at work you see! I've an HDMI lead into the back of the amp taking care of the picture and a co-axial into the amp taking care of the sound. The audio ouput from the Sky box is set to Dolby Digital (which I believe tells the box to switch output to the...

Sky HD Dolby Digital with Denon 1911 amp

When watching Dolby Digital broadcasts from Sky, my amp doesn't show DD being received on the display panel, instead it shows Pl II C, same as for non DD broadcasts. My Sky box is connected with a digital lead and all the output settings appear to be correct, do I have settings wrong on the amp...

    airport express

Having just read your thread I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring! I've just invested in two airport expresses, the first feeds my AV amp (Denon 1911) via an optical cable and the second my hi fi amp (Rotel RA-02) via a 3.5 to RCA cable. I realise that AV amps are not really designed for...

    Lip Sync issue with Sky+

Thank you all for the various suggestions. Tried a re-boot last night and it seems to have cured the problem.

    Lip Sync issue with Sky+

I've suddenly developed a lip sync issue when watching certain programmes which I've recorded on Sky+. The audio is now delayed by half a second or so. Strange thing is that it's only Sky+ which seems to be affected, watching Sky 'live' is fine as are blu-rays and dvds. (I run my Sky box to a...

Denon TU1800 DAB tuner as DAC?

Thanks Andrew, shame though, thought I might be able to save myself a few quid!

Denon TU1800 DAB tuner as DAC?

I've recently noticed that my Denon tuner has an optical input on the back. In the handbook this is described as being 'for future services which may become available'. I'm wondering whether this could be used for say an Apple Airport Express in order to use the internal DAC of the tuner and...

    DAC advice please

I'm being forced to embrace computer based music as all but my newest CDs are about to be put in the loft. I already use my iPod at times connected to my Rotel hi-fi amp with an Onkyo dock or Yamaha AV amp with a 3.5mm jack but would like to use my laptop too. I can't go too mad down the shops...

    Denon 1910, buying advice

I was perfectly happy with the amp until I added the b-ray player. When I played my first disc I was blown away by the picture but didn't find the audio any better than my DVD player. I have rightly or wrongly assumed that this is due to the b-ray player doing the decoding and sending the...
