Zeppelin Air Sound Muffled And Too reigned In

I just bought the new zeppelin air lightning connector, and I had high expectations from this doc since I have the first Generation zeppelin and its phenomenal and all the reviews claim that its an improvement from its predecessor especially reviews coming from this website.

To my surprise, as soon as I played my first track I was shoked in a negative manner. The sound was: WEAK, MUFFLED, TOO COLORED WITH INDISTINCT IMAGERY. The music sounds diluted. In short, the sound does not meet my expectation nor the zeppelin repution. The old old Zeppelin is by far much much better. Weird?! The sound is very normal.

Another issue is that the volume level is very unpropportionate. Some songs play loud while others are very low. You cannot listen to music at low to moderate volume. You really have to increase it to push the sound forward and listen to the sound as you would in the original zeppelin.

Any thoughts? I would really appreciate any feedback.

FYI My friend and many others are feeling the same way. I'm really confused by all the positive and 5 star feedback when its clearny not an improvement of the predecessor. Its actually much worse and not even close to being a great sounding dock. Does it make sense?

Different volumes on songs sounds more like a mastering issue with the originals. Some albums I own are very quiet (usually older ones) and some are very loud (invariably the newest ones).

As far as the reviews, Even What Hi-Fi state that the reviews are a guide and that you should audition equipment yourself.

I suppose there is the possibility of a new product requiring a burning in period before it sounds its best, but it should be pretty much up to speed after 10 hours of play. Is there a chance that your unit is faulty? It shouldn't be that much worse than the previous version.
