I hope someone kindly can help.

Set up with the auto option is generally OK and I guess that the equalizer tweaks each speaker to match the room. Using the GEO function and adjusting the frequencies manually is all guesswork. I dont really want to buy a sophisticated measuring device. Is it true that if the auto setup is used then not ony can you not adjust the frequencies but neither can you 'see' them for a bench mark. Using the PEQ only allows you to alter the relative volumes and crossover frequencies but not any individual equalizer values.

Auto gives all my speakers LARGE and a crossover at 40Hz but I change these all to SMALL except the front floorstanders and the crossover to 60-80Hz.

Hope someone can help.

Aint life loads-a-fun ?!

Cheers

Hello Robin in Kidder,

I have Onkyo 905 and B&W 685 Theatre package my setings say:

Subwoofer Yes

Front Full Band

Centre Full Band

Surround Full Band

LPF of LFE 100 hz

Try adjusting your crossover between 80 and 100 hz and check the settings on the back of the subwoofer as well and see if you get an imrovement .Also look at the manual for your speakers if they have any suggestions. Use your ears to decide what suits you and your room.

Best Wishes

Generally rears & centre are set to small .

In your speaker specifications

Aegis Neo 3: 43 - 40,000
Aegis Neo 1: 60 - 40,000
Aegis Neo C: 75 - 40,000
Aegis Neo Sub: Down to 25Hz

If it were me I would set the rears & center to small, the crossover manually set to 75Hz if possible as a starting point.

As the previous post though usually set between 80 to 120Hz pending on how it sounds in your listening room to your ears.
