Seems a bit of a joke that they make you buy a T-shirt in order to purchase the Series X console!
I guess the profit comes from these bundle deals for the retailer, the t-shirt being worth next to nothing .

Correct. They aren't allowed to sell beyond MRP despite the demand, hence resorting to such tactics to boost profits.
