Would new breed of Tvs & av amps accept Displayports

Just wandering if displayports output would play on tvs & amps. I had a computer in the pass, & it would not play both Audio & video due to lack of licences. Does anyone know if this is still the case.

Display port will not hit the TV market due to the restrictions you mentioned. Its not really designed for tv. I was really designed for daisy chaining monitors and hard drives. Apple taking it one step futher with the thunderbolt port.

Humm interesting hadnt seen that..... Looks like everyone will need to upgrade agian in few years then! Supose they'll release a revised HDCP standard as well!......

yes, just when you think you have waited enough something else new is around the corner. To be honest I dn't care much bout displayport. It's HDR am looking forward to when standards are set.
 
I have yet to be convinced about HDR till i see it action.
