So my Sony KDL40W4500 screen has smashed
emotion-9.gif

I only bought it about 3months ago and i still have the recipt which shows i bought it for £870.

If i claim on the insurance and show them the recipt do you thinks they will give me all the money?

What TV do you reccomend i should get if so?

So how has it gone from tiny crack in your first post to smashed now?

I note the use of the passive 'has smashed': did something happen to smash it? Or did it just spontaneously shatter?

What you will get from your insurance will be down to the age of the screen, the nature of your policy and the circumstances of the event, and that's a question best answered by your insurer or broker, rather than us.

Well I guess if you have an all-risks policy and the crack has been caused as the result of an accidental impact, you may get them to pay out if they consider the TV sufficiently damaged.

But be prepared for them to argue that it may be a manufacturing flaw you have just spotted, at which point the insurance company may suggest you take it up with the manufacturer. Or damage that happened before you bought it, in which case they'll suggest taking it up with the retailer.

Good luck!
