I've decided to buy a marantz nr1501 and cannot decide which speakers to pair it up with, I have narrowed it down between the

Jamo A102HCS5's (£250) and the Kef KHT 1005.2's (£299)

I would like to have good all rounders for stereo music and movies and considering there isn't a big difference in the price i will base this on other's personal experience and preference.

many thanks

Smaller speakers will be heavily comprised when it comes to audio reproduction. If you really want something decent for music, use your budget for the front 3 speakers, then add the sub and rears later. This will get you a better sounding system in the long term. Some people even use their budget on just the front pair and buy the rest of the speakers later.

The Marantz deserves it.

So that's a Hi Fi store advising you to spend more money than you want on hifi gear! Gosh! And they employ the old trick of praising one part of your kit to emphasise the need to spend more on another.

Oh come on!

I can see I'm not going to get much past you wolfytom - you've succeeded where 50, 315 others have failed and outed me for what I really am, a vile retail rat out to scam unsuspecting forum members.

It almost worked too, if it weren't for you meddling kids......

Hey enamix,

I saw these speakers demo'd with the 1501:

http://www.bostonacoustics.com/SoundWare-XS-51-Home-Theater-System-P385.aspx

They're a little more than you're budget - but they sounded great to me!!

I think you can get them in Richer Sounds - tho they're not on the website - they're about 400 - but you might get them a bit cheaper or get richer sounds to price match...
