Hi,
I've just sold my old sold my old surround sound system today (Sherwood RD-6106 reveiver and 5.1 Eltax speakers – old and not the best, but did the job). However I’m now after a new system.
I have about £700 to spend (could be increased if there was a better model for slightly more) and its for my living room approx 9m x 5m (wood flooring). I have the following equipment I’d like to run through the new receiver:
- PS3 (HDMI & Optical outputs)
- Virgin Media TV Drive (HDMI & Optical outputs)
- Pioneer DVD player (HDMI, Optical & Co-axial outputs)
And I have a Panasonic 42” (TH-42PX70B) TV that has 2 HDMI inputs.
I was thinking of getting the Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver with KEF KHT1005 (all for £600) – but I’m no expert and would like to get the best for my budget.
Any advice/feedback on which Receiver and Speaker set I should would be greatly appreciated.
Also whether it's worth getting all the 7.1 speakers or would 5.1 speak set do?
Thanks
