which is the better amp? sony str-da1200 or the da5000

I bought the sony da 1200 about a year and a half ago but have recently been given a da5000. i have looked on the net and cant really find reviews of the 5000. i know the 1200 has hdmi which is a benefit however i am using component so the hdmi doesnt really matter. and the da5000 is much higher power but which amp would be the best sound quality for music, and which one is best for surround sound, and which one is the best all rounder to use in my home cinema?

Exactly, if you already have both of them, connect them up one at a time and demo them, see which one you prefer

I know it's a bit of a workout disconecting and conecting a lot of wires, but it's a well spent afternoon.hehe.

thanks. yeah i thought as much which is why i have enjoyed an afternoon of playing around ha! just wondered if there was a plain reason why one amp may stand out from the other.
