Back in the era of bits of twine and two empty tinnies is the answer!

Well, not quite, but two guys from Sydney, on working with the ABC and the other at the Uni, gave to the world the theories of loudspeaker design very much in use to-day, enabling modelling of characteristics amongst other things.

There names were Thiel and Small, and I doubt there is a loudspeaker designer who hasn't used their theories.

Just thought I'd give aussie research a plug.

And where would Thiele be without Novak, or Small without Benson?

Or indeed any of them without Rice, Kellogg, Olsen or Beranek?
