Guys,

Over the last couple of years i have put together a system on a budget which does me well, however i would liek to know where i could see the most improvement. The system at moment is:

Panny P42S10 TV
Panny BDP-60 Blu-ray
Onkyo 505
Tannoy fx5.1 Speakers

I use the system mainly for movies at moment, however i would like to also include a CD player, DAB tuner and iPod dock at sometime so the system needs to be able to cope with all that.

I don't have a budget set at moment but would like to get some ideas. Thinking that over next couple of years might make small changes to a total of about £1k a year.

Thanks in advance

Well, you are at present enjoying HD pictures without HD sound. So, your first upgrade should be an amp that can decode all of the HD codecs.

Your second upgrade would be your speaker package, at a later stage.

Thanks for the reply. What reciever and speakers should i look at then for my intended use? I had thought about the Qacoustics 2000 pack, however i didn't know how it would stand up if used with music playback through iPod or tuner? Also would the denon 1910 be a good match with those speakers and my blu-ray?

Go to hispek.com and you will get an idea of the 'mix and match' systems as well as a budget to suit you.

Note: I do not work for hispek.com nor do I have anything to do with them.

Expect compromises when music is played through a Home Cinema System compared to a dedicated hi-fi system.

obviously a dedicated hifi system will sound better, however for how much i listen to music i'm sure it will be better than my gf little Phillips micro system.

Hi guys, sorry to resurrect this one but i have seen a ex-display Onkyo TX-SR607 for £199. Is this a good buy as a step up from my 505E?
