whatever is left no matter how improbable is the only possible answer.

Thats how it goes right? (something lke that anyway)

Ok so what happens when you elimate everything and you are left with nothing?

Allow me to elaborate

In terms of set up I have a ZP90 connected to a) my router and b) my stereo amp via a digital coaxial cable into the coaxial 1 socket of my stereo amp. Stereo amp obviously connected to front speakers. I have an S5 upstairs.

This evening I switched on my sonos to listen to a album on spotify....and no sound whatsoever. Odd I thought, I havent changed anything.

Spotify can be a bit erractic sometimes so i selected a song from my music library stored on my NAS....no difference

The amp was showing coaxial 1 as the input. I checked for loose cables.....all ok

So i went into the sonos desktop and linked the output to my S5 which is upstairs.

Voila ...music coming out of the S5 but not my stereo speakers. So the ZP90 is working (as is the NAS).

I then changed the cable to input into coaxial2 socket on the stero amp & selected that input.....no, no difference

I took the coaxial out and put an optical cable into optical1 selected that input...no difference.

so it looks like the cable isnt the problem

perhaps the front speakers.

I stuck a cd in the cd player which obviously uses a different input (CD as it happens)...and yes lots of noise there.

even put the tv on (with stereo amp in processer bypass mode) and yes sound still going to the front speakers

So speakers are ok

Checked again cables round the back. everything in place, nothing loose.

No idea what to check next.....Any suggestions clever people?

Fixed it.

Tried the old microsoft trick of switching everything off

Turning it off at the mains, leavin it a few minutes

then switched it all back on again

I must have some components made by microsoft
