What would be required to set up a high quality web streaming radio station?

I would be planning a 24 hour automated service with occasional live shows

I'm wondering what software and hardware is needed.

I've already got the music ripped to wav on the pc.

Would a processing card like the orban optimod-pc 1100 be required or could I use an existing orban 8100 processor that I have?

I already have a high quality M-audio soundcard in the PC.

What about the automation and playback software?

What streaming provider delivers the best sounding stream? I know its a trade off between bandwidth versus quality and while it might be possible to deliver an 'audiophile' quality stream its not much use if the average computer user can't access it.

Any recommendations or advice? I have web design skills but have no experience with audio streaming.

Whilst I frequently deal with YouTube type video sites, I'm not sure about constant stream. To be quite honest you sound like you're in the very initial stages, have you tried looking for a forum more adept on this subject?
