What will give me a better sound?

Hi all,

OK, most importantly I have NO money - budget is £200 max.

My current system consists of Tannoy Revolution R1 speakers, Denon 1707 Cinema amp, and a Toshiba 240 DVD player. My main source is my iPod Nano (2nd gen).

My question is what do I spend my cash on to get a significantly better sound- speakers, dedicated hi-fi amp or go for a system like the Yamaha 170 (£130 at Richer sounds)?

As money is tight, I need to make it count!

Any and all thoughta are very welcome.

Yamaha 170 with your Tannoy speakers with that budget. IMHO.

I would suggest giving up fags / beers / food or whatever for a couple of weeks to scrape together the extra 30 quid for a Marantz PM6002 amplifier (although you may find it for 200 if you shop around).

Also, make sure that your music is lossless, although I imagine that your Nano doesn't have an enormous hard drive, so this might be a bit of a pain.
