What Scart lead?

Following on from my earlier thread 'Cheapest upgrade ever?', I mentioned that my DVD is naughty at the moment. Anyway I have dodgy Scart, I've had a goosey thru the June edition, noticing a couple of adverts for AV stuff.

In the sub-£40.00 price bracket is the Ixos or QED Scart best value for money? Or does it mean a trip across to Richer tomorrow morning?

This is the best SCART I own and I also have QED / Ixos and the pic quality is up there and it fits a lot better.

Have you got an HDMI output? Much better than scart

The DVD has, but my CRT hasn't. . .Although it does have a component section.

The THOR scart is also what id suggest. Cheaper at AMAZON though

Components even better if you dont need sound through the tv

Usually at loggerheads with you on anything cable related but you're spot on with this. Big improvement over scart.ÿ

Are they better than Cambridge RRP £19.95 @ Richer Sounds?

I have the QED, Cambridge and Thor scart. All 3 are very good but for me the QED wins for picture/sound. Not the most flexible for ease of use.

Very interesting. . . .Conclusion is that although the 3 brands are very good, the QED pips it for overall performance.

Sorry for my ignorance in this area, but I've never paid much attention to Scarts - only because they've always worked and seemed fine (freebies from my electrical/hi-fi retailer) and I've only ever purchased one before [£40.00 Cambridge].

Thanks gentlemen.

Agree with 'aliEnRIK' about the Thor Scart. For the price you can get it for it is a total bargain, build is second to none and great picture and sound. So are the qed ones but I had one and one of the pins got pushed in a stuck so that's the only reason for me not recommending them.
