What receiver to do justice to B&W 683s?

So I started my home cinema system with an Onkyo TX 606 coupled with KEF 2005.3s and Panasonic BD-35 and Logitech squeezebox. I auditioned the B&W 685 cinema system originally and it was fantastic but out of my price range.

6 months later I "accidentally" found some B&W 683s on sale and couldn't help myself so I bought them. These speakers are extremely good but I am now hearing and understanding the limitations of my Onkyo 606 both in movies and music. Possibly the matching KEFs (centre, woofer, rears) unbalance the system a little too.

I could stick with the Onkyo but after 2 movies and 3 hours of music I know I will eventually get frustrated.

Usually listen to movies and music 50/50.

Top options to replace the Onkyo are Denon AVR 1910 and AVR 2310. Are these 'good enough' for the B&Ws or should I be investing more or in something else (Yamaha, Marantz??). Money is an object but what is the saying about price and quality...

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Your speakers are excellent, & need a good receiver to reap full benefits. Denon 2310 & 3310 are very good. Currently, the bargain of the century is the Yamaha RX-V3900, available for only £999 (previously sold for £1500). This will be excellent for your speakers.

The other Yamaha model to consider are: RX-V1900, an older model now replaced by RX-V2065.

All receivers sound very different to one another. Audition them & see what you like.

Thanks for your advice and sorry the thankyou is so late.

My budget eventually took control and I purchased a Denon 2310 - excellent.

However I am on the lookout for a bargain 2 channel power amp to add to the system which hopefully will give me more than enough power in the future without paying for features I don't need, which started to become the defining factor against the Yamahas.
