What is the best way to connect the new apple TV to my Denon AVR 1910 receiver?

Can anyone advise me on the best way to connect the new Apple TV to my Denon AVR 1910. All HDMI ports on the Denon are being used. Would i be right in saying that it would be possible to connect the hdmi into my Panasonic P50G20 and optical into my A/V receiver. Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to do this, your help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and by the way I have tried a HDMI 3way splitter, but the picture quality is crap. Once again thanks for any advice offered.

Yes, you should be able to connect the Apple TV directly to the TV screen using the HDMI cable, and use the optical to your AV receiver for sound. Obviously you'll need to mute the volume on your TV when listening to the Apple TV through your receiver.
