Hi all,

I got A18 +CD73 running with Van Den Hul D102's, What would you recommend as an upgrade? Is chord Chameleon the way to go. There is a risky option which is to buy 2nd hand Chord Signature INT. from EBAY for £200 where as I will be spending £125 ish for the Chord's? Help me.....!!!!!!1

you could also check out Crystal Cable Piccolo - i find it very agreeable with my Arcam source! i also had the VDH 102 and found the CCP a worthwhile upgrade.

You need to have a pretty good system to warrant spending the money on the Signature IMO. I would have thought the D102 would compliment your system pretty well and they are not too different from the Chord equivalent, the Chameleon.

I concur. You have an excellent cable at the moment that will sufface much in the way of upgrades. You'll want a neutral cable with an Arcam/PMC set-up as such a set-up is perfectly neutral.

yeh I agree with you, it seems over kill for the system I have but I picked up the Chord Signature cable form ebay at half the price; when you compare full price Odessey 4's v half price Signature it was a no brianer...

my own testing with my Arcam separates was covered here

http://whathifi.co.uk/forums/t/131162.aspx

my own experience found upgrading the speaker cables had a much greater effect than upgrading the interconnect. to be honest the interconnect upgrade really did very little in terms of improvement so i saved this money, while the speakers cables were marked.

i have yet to try a new mains cable although i do use a Tacima filter - it is on my to do list though.

i would agree that the VDH 102 is a great cable in terms of performance and value for your system

I have the vdh and the piccollo. Both are very good cables although I haven't done an A/B on these 2. The Piccollo definitely improved things when I added it between my amps. Clearer and more defined.

I would be far more tempted to add a power amp, that will give you the best upgrade, then change your CD73 next.
