Just curious - since the release of the JBL Synthesis SDR-35, JBL has released the JBL Synthesis SDR-38, yet I have not seen any review of it at What HiFi. The SDR-38 improves upon the SDR-35, including HDMI 2.1 support. I would think the SDR-38 would be on your list of best receivers.

Might it be worth including some objective measurements in your reviews?

The 3800 has measured worse than its predecessor over at ASR. Whilst I fully understand that sound quality is merely preference, measurements do at least reflect the level of engineering and good design.

More of everything is likely fine in an AV receiver but we shouldn't accept poorer engineering.
