Hello, I have just received my Samsung 26 B450 T.V and even at this stage I'm impressed. What I want is a D.V.D.player to go with this so could anyone recommend one for me, or would I be better buying a Blue Ray player that would also play D.V.D.? Many Thanks.

You can get a Sony BDP S360 for £136 from Dixons Direct (Curry's Group) with free delivery ! (advertised on 'Offer of the day ' shopping site today under the Blu ray section in the listings on the header)

This is a 5 star and WHFI award winning blu ray player which started off at over £200.00 but which has been heavily discounted

I am sure that you would be happy with the DVD and Blu Ray playback on this and it is profile 2.0 with Broadband connections etc

This is only a bit more that you would have to pay for a decnt DVD and give you the flexibility to choos e a blu ray version of a film that you particularly like

Blu rays are coming down in price - look at Rdvd.co.uk

Regards

Sony BDP S360 available at Blockbusters with 4 Free Blu Rays including Slumdog Millionaie, Terminator Salvation, Night at the Museum 2 and one other for £149.00 !!!!!!

I recall the WHF staff saying that the Sony S360 is marginally better picture than the PS3. I would think that to get an appreciably better picture you would have to go to the Sony BDPS 760 or the Pioneer BDP320

I will be buying an S760 to get a better picture than the PS3 I am using at the moment

I wouldnt change the PS3 for an entry level Blu Ray player as I do not think that you would tell much difference

Lot's, the ps3 is very good but is mainly a game console, I noticed a big jump going to blu ray player.

Copied from another thread by Claire NEWSOME :-

"That dedicated Sony player (S360) is a clear step up from PS3 in terms of sound and picture performance (especially with motion) - you've invested a lot in a superb TV, so it'd be a shame not to get the best out of Blu-ray on your budget.

Thanks, would the Sony you mentioned be an upgrade to the D.V.D which I've got now which is a Denon 1930?
