What Av Receiver??

Hi All,

Would like to know whats the opinion on either, a Denon Avr 2310 or Marantz Sr 6004?(as my next av receiver) 3D capable not essential.

Or is there any other receiver in the same ilk as two mentioned above i should think of ??

Having had a recent Marantz SR6001 amplifier, and now having the Denon 1911, I'd say that the Marantz gives a slightly richer sound, but the Denon has deeper and better controlled bass, and a little more detail.

Overall, for my tastes, the Denon edges it, particularyl for films, but the later Marantz amps have made big performance strides.

However, they both have quite a similar sound. For example, the Denons were the only amps when I demod that gave a similar musical presentation.

Another option, I have the Denon 2311 and find it quite good overall and recently have bi-amped my B&W floorstanders and it has made a difference both to timing & quality of sound.

Its fab with movies and capable enough in pure direct mode with my sony bd player acting as a transport via coaxil to amp.
