This is a dated thread I know but I thought I give you the heads up, I recently purchased The AVR-X1800H from Peter Tyson. The retail price £700ish now selling £399 online.

My old Denon AVR-2805 was way too complicated to setup, hopefully AVR-X1800H is more streamline. My TV and 4K Blu-ray player has Dolby Atmos, so it was nice to have this feature.

I should claw back some of the funds from selling my old AV, so much to sell on eBay, two satellite receivers need to go, Zidoo Android TV box, ASUS 27" PC monitor, LG Blu-ray player, sound bar, there's also stuff in the garage that needs to go!

Excellent receiver! I took the Old Denon AVR-1909 to replace it. I served faithfully for 19 years and was not repaired! I change it just by age. I listen to jazz, blues, jazz-rock on the acoustics of the Canton GLE-490. I watch movies with the addition of the Canton GLE-455 center. I set up the receiver quickly - a very convenient on-screen menu, it's good that there is English. I installed the Denon AVR app on my smartphone, the Wi-Fi on the receiver was set up just as quickly. The receiver is controlled from the TV remote control - on/off/volume. You can change the sound mode on your smartphone. It turns out that the original receiver remote control is not needed every day. Now I have the first impressions of the sound: there is a strong feeling that I have changed the acoustics - I took it from a more expensive line. Vocals, both male and female, sound denser, more natural. The bass began to deepen, but did not protrude. It feels like autotuning with the measuring microphone works quite accurately. The receiver comes with a cardboard stand for the measuring microphone - it's very convenient! I liked the sound of my system before, and now there has been a very noticeable update for the better. Good sound, which I have been fond of for 50 years, is not so little. And I can judge the quality of the sound, taking into account my experience and hearing a lot. Summary: I recommend this receiver to everyone who is looking at it or accidentally looks in its direction - you will not be disappointed!

Отличный ресивер! Взял на замену Старого Denon AVR-1909. Служил верой и правдой 19 лет и в ремонте не был! Меняю просто по возрасту. Слушаю на акустике Canton GLE-490 джаз, блюз, джаз-рок. Смотрю кинофильмы с добавлением центра Canton GLE-455. Настроил ресивер быстро - очень удобное экранное меню, хорошо, что есть английский язык. Установил приложение Denon AVR на смартфоне, Wi-Fi на ресивере настроился также быстро. Ресивер управляется с пульта телевизора – включение/выключение/громкость. Режим звука можно изменить на смартфоне. Получается, что родной пульт ресивера ежедневно не нужен. Теперь появились первые впечатления от звука: появилось стойкое ощущение, что я сменил акустику - взял из более дорогой линейки. Вокал как мужской, так и женский звучит плотнее, естественнее. Басы стали углубляться, но не выпирают. Чувствуется, что автонастройка с измерительным микрофоном работает достаточно точно. В комплект ресивера входит картонная подставка-стойка для измерительного микрофона - это очень удобно! Мне и до этого нравился звук моей системы, а теперь произошло очень ощутимое обновление в лучшую сторону. Хороший звук, которым я увлекаюсь уже 50 лет - не так уж и мало. И могу судить о качестве звука с учетом моего опыта и наслушанности. Резюме: рекомендую этот ресивер всем, кто к нему присматривается или случайно взглянет в его сторону - не разочаруетесь!

Anyone looking to buy an AV, regardless of budget should consider the Denon AVR X1800H.
Excellent sound. Coax connection is the odd omission.
It's a 7.2, you can add two subwoofers!
The software is intuitive and this makes setting up a real doddle.
