Hi Guys,

I currently have a home gigabit network and wireless N set up and want to stream Apps or movies from my wife's iPad to the TV wired and/or wirelessly.

How would I go about achieving this?

Are there any non-Apple products that will enable me to do this?

Thanks

The only way you can get Apps on to a TV screen is with an iPad2, iPhone 4 or the latest iPod touch, and the HDMI dongle. Older iThings can output video over the dongle, but are not capable of displaying the mirrored screen view on the television.

My wife has a couple of workout Applications that she has downloaded onto her iPad but would prefer to view them on a larger screen. I downloaded one of the Apps to iTunes but could not playback on my PC which then left me thinking how can we view them on the TV. I didn't think the Apple TV was capable of doing this as Roger06 suggested & Paul Hobbs doesn't seem to think it can be done that well with the likes of the iPad.

If the only way of gettings Apps to a TV is with the latest Apple products such as the iPad 2, iPhone 4 etc, can this done with the use of an Apple TV only?

I'm pretty sure some of the iOS workout apps are airplay compatible, not sure an upgrade to an ipad 2 is needed, just the atv2 for the neater solution.

Guess it depends on the app though.
