The guy I sold it to wants to plug the port up with a sock, will this cause any damage? Will there be any benefit?
He thinks it will hit lower if he does this. He's obsessed with getting to 30hz, the sub officially goes to "35." Is building a lower tuned cabinet possibly a better way of doing it?
He plans to run the thing at the 3am volume setting for hours on end. I have a feeling it might overheat, having said that I ran it at 4am for 6 hours once on compressed music and its didnt, but the port was open then. It cant really be damaged by overexcursion I gave it loads of abuse of back plate slapping and it still works fine.
Thanks for any help. The reason I/he abuse(d) what many may consider to be a fine budget sub is because it cost me £20, and I sold it to him for £15. When you consider what the alternatives are at £15, I hope he doesn't blow the thing.
He doesn't have the money for another sub. The £15 was a stretch...
