WebOS bites the dust :(

HP today anounced it will be spinning off its low margin PC buisness, and will be closing down WebOS. This is a great shame, because I thought the Pre was a lovely product.

Are googles pockets deep enough to buy up the old Palm portfolio of patents? They spent two years gross profit on Motorola Mobile. Its all going down in the smartphone space at the mo.

OK, HP's VP of developer relations just tweeted that HP are leaving the hardware biz, but planning on licensing WebOS. I think they might struggle there...
