Hi

i'm new to this but i hope someone can help.

i have an old technics seperate amp ( 2x 100w) which i have in my shed and put my old ms10 speakers on, which i then use out in the garden to listen to my i-pod, does anyone know of any waterproof or camoflage waterproof speakers i could buy to put in my garden and leave.

i live on a farm so neighbours arn't a problem!!!. price range 100 pounds ish!.

any ideas!

thank you

From what I know speakers dont hold any electrical current so they'll be fine to get a bit wet but if youre after weatherproof speakers that's a different thing altogether!

hi thanks

i want to leave them out all summer so i think i'll need waterproof ones i'm sure someone must do them.

thanks

There are many about, most big companies make an outdoor model (I'm not going to break the rules and advertise 🙂 ) - if you're not interested in quality so much there should be quite a few affordable options if you have a look on Google.

many thanks both of you for your help at least i hve a couple of places to start!!!!

Pretty sure KEF make a range of outdoor speakers as well, although I'm not sure if any fit your budget. Sonance are another company that do quite a range, including some made to look like rocks (including a subwoofer!)! No idea what they sound like though...

For example Acoustic Energy, Bose, Boston Acoustics...

Though do bear in mind when browsing that such speakers tend to be priced individually, rather than in pairs.

Very good point Andrew - all C.I. speakers (which generally covers outdoor models) are priced individually due to their utility applications. Always check the small print!

On the previous comment - Outdoor subs can be very interesting (we used to distribute Boston's range), rather than being a little "boy racer" and upsetting the neighbours, the extra bottom end they fill in from the smaller speakers results in you actually playing them at a lower overall volume.
