Water Damaged Sony VPL-FX40

Hi everyone,

I am after some advice, I have been storing my Sony Projector a VPL-FX40 (about 4 years old) in a plastic box in the garage not ideal but it was dry and secure.

The problem is the roof has been damaged in the recent storm and the great idea of storing the projector in a plastic box was not a good one, as this filled up with rain water.

My insurance company is coming round at the weekend to audit the damage for a new for old replacement , but I need an idea of a replacement.

The only one that I can find on the Sony web site is the Sony VPL-FH500L can anyone recommend a similar spec projector large venue spec.

A 50" plasma has also be damaged but that is easy to replace etc

Thanks for replying. Been looking at the Sony pro site, but cant really find anything similar, with built in speakers for presentations etc.

Looks like it might have to sacrfaice the speakers and go for the laser (at least no bulb changes) or do I go for a high end Home cinema projector not sure.
