I enjoyed watching it - then I like watching those "How things are made" shows on cable.

Just for comparison here is a 10 minute video of paint drying: click

I found the AKG headphone video much more enjoyable, if a little bit to "American" science program

I am reminded of the wisdom of my good friend Malcolm Steward, scribe emeritus of this parish, walking round the Sennheiser factory with a monumental hangover, and surveying endless massive and light-green-painted pieces of industrial hardware with a mixture of bland distraction and concern about the whereabouts of the next ***-break.

On being told by the umpteenth Herr Doctor Professor "And this is our boring machine", said scribe was heard to mutter, in a stage mutter probably heard across the next valley, "And how is this different from all the other boring machines we've seen?"

Yeah, I thought it was interesting too idc. Why can't our American cousins pronounce solder? "Sodder!" really? And another question, where the flip can I audition some, grrrrr.

I once went on a class trip to the Ford factory in Dagenham and all the 'technicians' made howling monkey noises at us. Honestly it was like a step back into the jurassic age.

I am taken a-back by the paint drying analogies. The thread is clearly titled, so watch the link only if you want to. I am not trying to fool people; 'watch Paris Hilton make AKG headphones'.

As I said, I enjoyed the AKG video - I only posted the link to paint-drying as a slight dig at Mr.E...

I hope I haven't caused any offence, that was never my intention

Diamond Joe:Sizzers:Very good!

Want to try some AKG's when I (eventually!) get my new CDP.Good luck finding some!!!!!!

Well won't be looking for a couple of months but are they hard to find then?

I know Idc recommends them for picking up detail etc and I'm getting pretty curious!

Sorry for my little comment Sizzers, I hope it doesn't put you off, I'm currently looking for a new pair but having no luck.

In my region (Northants-ish) trying to find any headphones of any quality, i.e. £200 and upwards, is proving to be a bit difficult. I might just give in and get some Grado SR325is, which I've heard and like, but I'd like to hear all the other contenders: AKG, Beyer, Audio Techinca etc.

I think I'll have to travel much further afield.

p.s. anyone having problems posting with Google Chrome? Had to swap back to Firefox for this one.

He should have gone to the B&O product testing facility instead. They test for the effects of cigarette smoke on their products. He could have joined in.

Thanks for posting the video idc.

I wish more manfacturers would put similar videos on their websites.

Chord have one, B&O have an extremely thorough virtual factory tour and there is the old Mullard film on the Mullard Tube website.

Maybe we need a thread where all hifi/AV manufacturing video clips people have found can be collected in one place.
