WASAPI not working...any advice?

Hi guys,

I just received my first set today and since I am playing only from pc I tried to do somthing to improve the SQ vua software. I found an article of PJPRO on WASAPI but it doesn't work. I am using an Arcam rDAC and I installed foobar2000. I go to preferences and I chose output...then I select WASAPI: speaker Arcam rDAC

Format 16bit untouched and buffer 1000ms...I press play and get this message:

Unrecoverable playback error: Unsupported stream format: 44100 Hz / 16-bit / 2 channels

Why is that? Thanks

I connected my rDAC using USB port

Hi there,

If you change the output data format to 24-bit that should work. I had the same problem when using WASAPI on Foobar, I don't quite know how but Foobar has imported my Amazon mp3's as 24-bit. I use the ASIO plug-in with ASIO4ALL download and you then don't need to set or change the output data format.

Indeed it works but I have to change the buffer from 1000ms down to 100ms otherwsie I keep getting disturbs...

Do you really think that using Widows 7 64bit and an Arcam rDAC connected trough USB there is a sensible improvement by using WASAPI? Because I really can't spot an huge difference...when I use foobar with WASAPI or VLC to play my MP3...
