Hello guys, I am using HP laptop for more than 5 years now. It was ok till somedays. Problem is it get heated so much that it go to shut down mode. Now thinking of buying a cooler, can anyone suggest anything? Or should I buy anything to clean the dust from the fan?

I have just bought one of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-AWE55EU-Laptop-Cooling-laptop/dp/B002Q8X3L2/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1429178045&sr=1-1&keywords=Targus+AWE55EU+Laptop+Cooling+Pad+2

It arrives tomorrow, so I should know after the weekend if it works. I tried cleaning the dust from the fan but it did not seem to help. To clean it properly requires taking the laptop apart from what I have read online and that seems to be quite tricky so I am giving the cooler a try.

if you want to get dust out computers, use this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Duster-Compressed-Flammable-400ml/dp/B000MQ7DZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429190039&sr=8-1&keywords=air+duster

ideally try not to use a vacuum if there is exposed electronics or near to as it can cause static and damage it.

Bearing in mind, if it's overheating without an external cooler, there maybe a bigger problem lurking underneath, such as decayed thermal paste etc. Also make sure you give the laptop plenty of ventilation around the inlet and output vents.
