Volume setting on V+ BOX

Advice please.

I have connected the audio out from my V+ set top box to my pre-amp. I would like to know what I have to do to enable the V+ remote to change the audio out volume level and not the TV's.

try setting the remote code (p22 in the manual) to '0683', which should reset to factory default - ie control the box rather than the telly

Hi John,

I've not got the V+ manual, but I followed the instructions from previous threads on how the get the remote to work the volume on the TV. I did this & entered the code 0683. Now when I use the remotes volume buttons, a box on the screen tells me that I should be setting the remote to the TV code in order to work the TV volume by the V+ remote, which of course I,m not trying to do, I,m trying to get the remote to work the volume in the box. Would the instruction manual tell me something different. Is it available out there in cyberspace ?

Does this mean I will have to do the unthinkable and get out of my chain, walk 6 feet and turn the knob myself !!!!!!!!!

If it's good enough for the rest of us...

I'm surprised this doesn't work - what happens if you don't have a TV on the list? Or if you're never using TV volume (because you have an AV receiver, for example)?
