Hi,
I show films in our village hall using my Toshiba Satellite laptop and a Kenwood KRF 5030 D receiver rated at 80 watts per channnel. Speakers are Eltax 180 large floor standers which I use on stands. They are rated at 4-8ohms. Recently addaed an Eltax centre speaker to improve dialogue, also rated at 4-8ohms.
The hall is not large and the person at greatest distance from the speakers is about 20 feet. In order to get sufficient volume I have to put the laptop sound on max and turn the receiver up to almost full volume. Has adding a centre speaker had the effect of reducing the signal to each speaker or is the problem that the receiver/amp is just not powerful enough?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Barry
