Or, if you can stretch to it, the Yamaha RX-V1065 at £449, in my opinion having had a thorough home audition of the Denon, beats it hands down (see other threads on the subject, wish I knew how to post a link). It's extraordinary value at that price.

Denon 1910 great all round performer suspect build quality though plastic face yuck.I can live with it as it is my second system movies only.

Just installed a Sony STRDH800 for a friend. I must say I was very impressed. They are now in short supply, but can be obtained fro Richersounds for £250. Very easy to set up as well, and it sounded very good. 4 HDMI inputs should be enough for anyone.

Depends on which speakers you've got. All receivers sound different depending on your speakers. The general rule is to pair bright speakers with warm receivers & vice versa.

Ive got the 2400ES and B&W MT-30 speakers/sub and am loving it.
