I totally understand your urgency. SAM makes an incredible difference!

You're absolutely right, the world is a better place because of it.

Can you just explain what it is one more time?

I had to click on this because it said "Urgent"

I am not friends with SAM, because he is out of my price range and so are the HL5's.

Good Luck in your quest.

I believe even cheap Onkyo amplifiers do a similar thing ... automatically.

Save yourself a whole heap of cash :)

Be careful what you read.

I listened - a lot. - And then I believed.

The heap of cash was worth the result.

Don't have Devialet or Harbeth, but I love good clever marketing so I voted.

So let me get this right; the manufacturer knows its speakers can be better with this processing, but chooses not to implement it unless you vote for it?? *scratch_one-s_head*

In order to implement it they have to get a pair of said speakers in their lab do take the necessary measurements to get SAM to work. This can't be done for every speaker available because of the amount of time and work required so they just do it for the speakers that people want most. A voting system seems the fairest way of choosing which speakers get the SAM treatment.

But the current system is clearly open to abuse, as it allows non-Harbeth owners to vote as well.

The SAM voting campaign is only one of the ways Devialet have decided which speakers to make SAM-ready. I think they’ve done four things:

1. SAM voting campaign (good marketing but open to abuse)

2. Consulting their dealer network on what speakers Devialet owners use (makes good sense)

3. Working with big speaker manufacturers to develop SAM, namely B&W (fair enough)

4. Making lots of French speakers SAM-ready (naturellement!)

But it's still early days.
