Hi!

I'm looking to upgrade the home cinema part of my equipment setup. At present, I have a fairly old Yamaha sound processor bolted on to my hi-fi Marantz 2-channel music amp. This is pretty outdated and I was thinking of replacing it with either a Denon AVR-1910 or the Denon AVR-2310 receivers (which I have read good things about). Only problem then is what I do about music! I'll have my Marantz CD player and 2-channel music amp but don't want to then go and buy speakers and have a separate system. Can I for instance connect both my music amp and AV receiver to different posts on the Tannoy Rev. 3 floorstanding speakers and use them both as the speakers in my hi-fi setup AND as the front left and right speakers in my surround-sound TV system?!

I'd be grateful for any pearls of wisdom!
Thanks, Ian

PS this is my equipment in total: CD player: Marantz CD6000 OSE KI Signature Amplifier: Marantz PM-66SE KI Signature Speakers: Tannoy Revolution R3 - on Audio Serenity speaker platforms & spike shoes I/C with cables: QED Silver Anniversary DVD player: Pioneer DV-737; AV processor/amp: Yamaha DSP-800 Rear surround speakers: Tannoy Revolution R1 on Atacam Nexus 6 stands Centre speaker: Tannoy Revolution Centre QED Silver Anniversary Equipment rack: Soundstyle XS 105 Plasma 42-inch TV: Panasonic TH-42PX70BA

Dont connect both amps to the speakers. It is possible to obtain a speaker switch which can direct either amp to your main speakers. That way you dont risk blowing anything.
