upgrade amp from cambridge 640 v1 (help)

hi i currently have a Cambridge audio 640 a v1 amp and 640 c v2 cd player .cambridge dac magic ,Dali lektor 2 speakers and chord carnival silverscreen cables.

I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading the amp to the new Yamaha A-s500 amp .i have a budget of about £400.

Any upgrade advice would be great

my opinion would be that if your going to upgrade to look for something a little higher end, for the same price look second hand.

or maybe i was thinking about upgrading the cd player to Audiolab 8200 cd player.

I want to upgrade to something that would make a big difference that warrants spending the money or am i just asking for too much.
