I just accidently unplugged my speakers for a few short time (2 seconds) while the amp was on could this have done any damage to my amp or speakers? I am listing now and the sound seams as good as ever but could I have damaged a small part and not have noticed.

Sorry if I seem a little paranoid but I have only just got my hifi and being a student I had to stop eating to be able to afford it!

Damaged beyond repair I'm afraid.

No just kidding, no harm done whatsoever. It's happened to me a few times, with different amps and speakers and nothing bad has ever come from it.

You have probably done no damage. (place your ear close to the tweeters and see if they are working ok. Try and keep the volume at a moderate level for this!)

Most amps have protection circuitry.

In future - if you need to unplug speakers - turn volume right down and select a source you have nothing connected to. Unplug from the amplifier end first to reduce any chance of 'shorting' the circuits.

Lol I think we have been through that particular panic before. In my case it led to an extreme paranoia before I finally was sure no harm was done.

Hehe I hotplugged a very powerful amp the other week and accidentally touched the chassis with the speaker plug resulting in a spark...

...but everything was fine!

All hifi and av carries warnings not to plug or unplug anything when the appliance is switched on. But I have been doing such for years and I have not died once.
