TV Settings - Can WHF publish the values??

Hi Guys,

Once you review a TV can you not also publish the values you have calibrated for each setting, Contrast, Colour etc.....

I am sure this would help many people to calibrate the TV's they have bought following reviews in the mag or online as there are always many questions about getting the best picture.

I am of course assuming that each set of the same model will (or should) display the same quality picture if the settings are identical.

......Screens would and do vary (I have 3 Apple LCDs in my office, all same size, 2 even purchased at the same time, and out of the box they were vastly different, scary, before calibrating with an X-rite)....However, it WOULD be a good starting guide, especially with TV's that have so many options and modes......

What's tough is when you have to colour calibrate Apple screen's with NEC, Llyama and Panasonic and keep the customer 100% happy...

Just never gonna happen....I have an Eizo screen too, for my top end work, it ****** all over the Apple's as you would expect, but I would never go near trying to get a perfect match across brands and different screen types, technologies and price points.....With TV's, I can only imagine it's far worse and a nightmare...!

superb idea messiah, hope everybody at whf read this ,it would certainly stop people like myself having a heart attack after finding out prices on calibrations from shops.Im certainly looking into other options on screen settings after getting my qoute on the isf calibration from sevenoaks(£500 to£600).Again,a superb idea

If you go to hdtvtest.com, and your tv has been tested, then you will find the best settings there. I used it for my px80 and when checked (after running in) with THX optimiser it was already spot on !

Hi meaaiah, I asked this very same question over and over again to the WHiFi team and for some reason they are so reluctant to give us any values.
