I have been trying to buy a Sony BDV-E300 since Christmas, but with not much luck.

Anyway i have finally ordered one from superfi, however they are awaiting stock. This seems pretty much the case with all the decent priced suppliers.

However i have today noticed that Sony have pulled the BDV-E300 from their web site. Is this something i should be worried about. Am i ordering a system that has already been discontinued? Or is it something worse like they have problems with them?

I also have not been able to find any details of the wireless rear speakers. What extra equipment is needed for this?

Thanks for any help.

There is another thread on the What Hi-Fi forums from a potential buyer who is after the same system but from reading it i have to say that the Sony BDVE300 seems to be discontinued now and also hard to aquire as per a Sony Centre staff member but someone did mention that Tesco's seem to have quite a few available somewhere. Have a look at the link below for the thread and have a read, there is one important thing to remember as you should order it from a dealer who has stock on hand or can guarantee you will get one.

The sony bdv-e300 is not discontinued,But sony uk is finding it hard to fullfill orders, and at £299.99 its not hard to see why,We had 100 to sell in our sale and they flew out within 2 days.Super-fi will be getting stock,so be patient.I know this as we are part of the super-fi chain. The unit will be finished in march.

Thanks for the update guys. Its good to know that superfi will get some at some point, i will however try TESCO on the way home tonight.

Cheers....

I don't intend to derail your thread Necroscope, but would your real name be Harry Keogh by any chance?
