Hi,
I read the Panasonic 46PZ81 review with great interest and was very encouraged that in the review, it was deemed to have 'Excellent SD" picture quality. I would like to ask, if that was the case also with standard off air/freeview broadcasts and which gives the better SD picture performance - the Panasonic 42/46PZ81, the Pioneer 428XD/4280 or the Pioneer 508XD?
Thank you,
Bazzy!

Hi Bazzy,

The Panasonic's Freeview tuner was impressive - the Freesat tuner was slightly better, however, on the same channels, so it's best to get your satellite dish sorted pronto if you opt for a PZ81 set.

If I was going for a 42in-50in and plenty of SD-viewing was on the agenda, i'd still be tempted by the Pioneers, if available - they still set the performance standard in so many areas. Can be beaten for HD detail, however, by the best Full HD rivals - so if you're planning to be a regular Blu-ray watcher, you need to consider that, too.
