This TV is annoying me!

For some reason, on certain channels, there's a women's voice describing the action: "Anna walks into a large room and hands her father a mug of tea..." blah blah.

When it has happened before I've groped the controls and, more luck than judgement, I've managed to switch off the audio text. Tonight, however, I can't. Any help to gag the text would be appreciated.

TV is LG LS6500 (I think). Bloody thing.

It's finding the right setting to monotonus dragon. I've pressed every setting on the menu, it seems.

Try using the I/II button on the remote control, which toggles between the languages being played. Audio Description is usually set up as the 'sub-language'

Or, depending on the model, try this:

Press the MENU button and then Up or Down button to
select the OPTION menu.
Press the Right button and then Up or Down button to select
Language.
Press the Right button and then Up or Down button to select
Audio.
Press the Right button and then Left or Right button to select your
desired language. The option you should be going for is Dolby Digital,
not the speaking mouth symbol for Audio Description.
Press the EXIT button to return to normal TV viewing.

Or this:

Select Menu.
Select OPTION.
Select Disability Assistance.
Select Audio Description.
Select Off.
Press Menu/Exit

Of course, if the AD is coming from a set-top box of some kind, you'll need to find that setting in the box's menu! ;-)
