Well my concern is how for God's sake, the engineering and materials it takes to make a Mercendes equal to those required to make an amp. It's a mystery to me...

Partly down to the rarity of the 'new old stock' original Telefunken valves I suspect. (Probably last made some 40 - 50 years ago.)

The wife would run the car until it ran out of petrol and clip the amp at the volume she listens to while she does the hoovering so none of them would be appreciated in my house.

So thats where all my money goes, I thought my wife had been buying shoes again.

its all relative i believe. If you are earning a 6 figure salary then it wouldnt be unreasonable to purchase either or both. i know if i had that kind of money available i wouldnt hesitate!!! not necessarily on either of these items mind but there is a lot of ultra-high end kit available and some of it would make that amp look cheap by comparison...
