I doubt it. Though this uses Wifi, it's a proprietary system, note the article states not any phone will do - it needs compatible Qualcomm hardware, and is limited to 4.2Gbps. It's a bandwidth limited proprietary wifi system between headphones and phone, albeit much higher bandwidth than Bluetooth.

This isn't what I had in mind when I think true Wifi headphones. Apple will surely develop their own proprietary system too.

Neither will be universal.
