The return of the SACD!! (in Japan at least)

Universal music in Japan are to start releasing SHM-SACD discs. Inital titles include albums by Eric Clapton, The Police, Steely Dan, The Who, The Moodly Blues, Velvet Underground among others including jazz and classical discs. They plan to release new titles every two months. These are stereo SACD only (no hybrids) It's a shame that it would appear that these will only be released in Japan, as they work out about £35 a disc! [:(]

You could always buy them in Japan and have them shipped to your doorstep.

I found a japanese webshop some time ago that ships all over the world for very reasonable prices. I'll see if I can still find the link.

EDIT: seems like you already found that website....

I don't think there has been a noticeible difference in SACD releases of pop/ rock titles in Japan than here or the US in recent years.
