The PURE EVOKE-3

This certainly appears to be a mighty fine DAB radio with plenty of features; so I considered getting one. However, the majority of reviews date back to 2006 and being the type of person who buys something only for the next generation to be out the following week, I want to know its PURE are likely to release a new version. Maybe an EVOKE-3S, XT or not EVOKE at all but a new line with improved features. Can anyone help? Then again, if you consider this to be a bad choice, let me know.

HI Steve,

The Evoke 3 is still a corking DAB, but you're right - it's two years old.

I don't know Pure's exact product plans - they're being a little cagey - but I do know they intend to get some new kit to us in July, in time for our annual Awards (which are announced in September).

Sorry I can't be more precise at this time...

I have one of the beasts and the only thing I dont' like about it is it eats batteries so stays mainly mains plugged.

The firmware is upgradeable via an USB port so should remain upto date.

If they are about to replace it then watch out for the discounts. Normally a god giveaway
