Hello everyone. First sorry for my bad English.

The reason for reporting is problem with my philips series 9. In fact, I bought a model 42pfl9603d, which occasionally whew turn on would not give image. Tone would be included and could change channels normally, but no trace of the image. Image to appear when excluded, and again included television (some kind of reset?). Because of this, the TV was in the service twice. The first was replaced some part, and then the entire display. The problem always returned. Then they replace my tv to the 9703 model, which worked normally three months, to the same problem appeared on it. Means the same as the 9603, turn on TV, no picture, the tone goes and can change channels. Then turn off and on a TV, and everything works normally ... To note that the TV is not attached any other device and that this problem does not occur so often, but maybe 1-2 a month.
What's this all about? Is it possible that this is normal behavior sets, and the service it did not know or I just have no luck? Not to mention remote, with their wheel to navigate through menus "jumps and do what they want."
Does anyone can help me their advice, because I no longer know what to do?

I found the problem is maybe that the TV requires a new software via the TV signal
(usually at night) and how it can not be found, the next day acting strange. Is
that true? Are there any experts?

Hi Josi and welcome to the what hi fi forums

I have a "high end" philips tv too please see below, sometimes when i turn my tv on, it does not turn on, so i then have to turn the mains off, and then back on again, and then it works fine, I think it has been about 6 months till it done it last though.

Other than that it works fantastic apart from one of my ambilights has packed up.

My 6 month old 42" 9664 is currently away under repair for a similar issue. Pretty much every day the picture would disappear (sound would remain and ambilight continue to function as though the picture was present). Although it has only ever happened when using the freeview tuner I'm told that it is getting another panel. To be honest I'm now completely paranoid about the work being done to it as the engineers who came to look at it / take it away didn't seem to be the most knowledgable.
